Jun. 3rd, 2008 05:04 pmThe disadvantage in not getting a job so far away from home is that I now can't have a good cry about it for hours. XD I got through the first stage, and apparently they wish there were two jobs so that I could have one too and I was so close to getting it and blah blah I still didn't. So. I'm tired and I'm grumpy and I have to start looking for jobs again and I just. Really don't think I'm very good at this. Not the interview process, that's fine - the teaching.
Wish I hadn't come here. Am now fruitlessly in love with York.
Things'll improve.
Not today.

Date: 2008-06-03 06:09 pm (UTC)Job searching sucks; it's wearing and dispiriting and hard work that often takes a good while to pay off. But it's very much not nothing to have come that close to getting the job. That means you were an excellent candidate who just happened to have the bad luck to be in the same applicant pool as someone who was a marginally better fit for that particular school.
You'll get one. Things will improve, as you say. And then you'll get to prove in practice what a fabulous teacher you are, and you'll be doing what you love instead of submitting resumes about it.
