Yes, I'm counting down the days. Yes, I realise that that's a really negative thing to be doing, and it's probably evident to the pupils, and blah blah blah EIGHT SO HA.

Fad at school among the year 9s (13-14 yr olds) for piercing one another, with earrings. Earrings that have been worn. That's bad enough, but it's piercings at the top of the ear, too, which is just... holy crap, it hurts when it's done properly! Apparently some kid was sick on the bus this morning due to being badly pierced, and is covered in blood and vomit. Kids are delightful, no? I'm tempted to do a presentation for the year 9s about proper after care and how gross infections can be. I mean, I got mine done in a proper piercing place during Easter and it's still totally crusting.

Still working, still busy, feeling mostly okay even though I have hideous year 9 today - only five lessons left with that particular class, and the word for that is WOOMCH. Plans for the weekend include watching jousting. In a castle. Subsequent plans for the weekend will inevitably include A Knight's Tale.

Looking forward to finishing mostly because I GET TO FINISH WRITING MY AU. \o/!!! My mind is still constantly flipping the soundtrack around at the most distracting moments, dammit.

Yuck. Quite apart from the likelihood of infection, there's a very real risk that they will damage the cartilage of the upper ear. It's a straightforward choice really - use a proper needle or put up with infection, blood, pus and disfigurement. The pain is a good thing - it's nature's way of telling them not to be so damned stupid!
