Seriously just had such an awesome RP idea.



It would essentially be based around the London Underground, with each station being a different comm. There would be one central station which the UberMod (say, me) would run, and it would start with just that station. Then people could either create OCs to play with, or choose to adopt another station and mod a comm for it (or both, obviously). Each comm concept would be different, and each would have to be run by the UberMod before it was adopted into the network, but there could potentially be comms for all sorts of things; a comic book shop style comm, where scans were posted, a music sharing comm maybe, various RP comms with different age ratings or concepts, whatever. So you could have some vaguely normal comms, and then one station where LONDON HAS BEEN OVERTAKEN BY ZOMBIES! Or, like, Ravenscourt could be regency!RP or whatever.

The info page of each comm would be very detailed as to what the comm was about - and adult comms or media sharing comms would have to be f-locked - and on the info page would be links to every other comm that was on the same train line as that station. It would be OCs only, I suspect, although that could be potentially changed.

I suspect it has potential...

ETA: potential for different lines to have different basic concepts, colour coding what's RP and what's maybe resource sharing (icons, canon etc) and what's OOC...

ETA2: Additional mods as line managers, with each taking concerns and guidelines as to what would need to be discussed with other mods and UberMod. One of the old deserted and closed down stations as a mod comm, inaccessible to all others. XD

Uh, holy shit, that sounds super awesome. Kind of huge, but awesome. Would all the "stations" be IC, or do you mean there'd be some OOC ones thrown in there as well?

Well I would suggest placing your character in whichever of the RP comms you wanted to play in that day, and then popping a note in the OOC comm related to it and letting people know that you wanted to play. People could keep track of as many or as few RP comms as they were interested in.

The other alternative would be to gather a small party on an OOC comm and travel around together, trying new RP places with links between, like we used to with paper airplane fights in Milliways - linking between threads. That way you could have zombies AND regency with one group, if you wanted.

I'm totally working it out as I go... XD

Duuuude. That sounds like a really cool model for an RPG, wow. I don't really do original character RPs any more, focused on writing them and play fandom characters for my play-time, but I definitely think it's a fun concept!
