Because, frankly, they've BEEN making one for just over a decade now, and it keeps getting shuffled around to different producers and directors and whatnot. It's finally landed into the hands of the Jim Henson Co, and they were just starting to fiddle with it when the damn writer's strike hit. I'm not even sure it's been cast yet, but hopefully they're starting on it in earnest soon.

That was a TV miniseries and I'm watching it now. :D This is apparently going to be a film in 2009(?)
