nnySudden and inexplicable mental image that belongs to nothing:
Sheppard was sprawled in the chair in front of McKay's desk in a position that made Rodney's back hurt just by looking at him. It was a posture, and it was ridiculous; he seemed to take up every molecule of space in the room with his mere presence, whereas deliberately trying to spread himself out only drew attention to his lean build. It wasn't as though Rodney was looking, though, since he was having a hard time taking his eyes away from the terrifyingly large knife in Sheppard's hands.
Not for the first time, he wished he could stuff everything he'd just said back into his mouth where it would be safe.
"It's okay, McKay." Sheppard's grin, when Rodney finally looked up, didn't reach his eyes. "It's not like I don't know mercenary is a dirty word."
ETA: Don't suppose anyone knows where I can get hold of an icon of John in his headphones? I'm hoping I'm going to be needing it relatively soon. ;)
