nnyYes, I'm tense as hell about the election. I can't do anything about it; many of you can, many of you have, and I'm crossing my fingers for you.
Since I can't do anything, I'm thinking, and what I'm thinking about is fandom-approved sex acts. I mean, I've been reading quite a bit of Sentinel fic lately, and there seems to be an awful lot of fic involving rimming. I'd assume it was related to the enhanced senses, writers wanting to explore that, but it's generally Blair doing the actual tongue parts. I'm intrigued as to why this is; I'm also intrigued as to other fandom-based patterns. So a few questions to distract you all:
1) What fandoms/pairings do you follow?
2) Is there a particular sex act that you associate with these fandoms/pairings?
2b) How about pet names?
3) Is there a writing style that you associate with these fandoms/pairings (e.g. D/s or kink, long build-ups, mpreg, kidfic, romance, PWPs etc.)
4) Does this association mesh with your preferences? Do you think you've noticed this particular style/act because you've been looking for it particularly?
5) How big is your fandom? Does it get a lot of fic posted?
Please share any thoughts you have on the matter, too.

Nope, they're all/both pretty much anything goes as far as I'm concerned.

UNFORTUNATELY YES.

D/s appears to be very popular in bits of bandom and with Torchwood, not sure about the other stuff. Oh, obviously there is a lot of crack.
4) Does this association mesh with your preferences? Do you think you've noticed this particular style/act because you've been looking for it particularly?
I'd say it does, yeah. I don't specifically go looking for it, because I don't go looking for fic full stop, but I think the stuff people ask me to read probably is biased in favour of what I enjoy.
5) How big is your fandom? Does it get a lot of fic posted?
Torchwood: Fucking huge, and yes, yes it does.

Not for most of them, no. Except for FMA: Archer/Kimberly; that's definitely my gunkink fandom/pairing! (Though honestly I think Klaus started it.)
And there are a few on that list that I associate with a particular kink, though not really with a specific act. (FMA and Gundam are my "uniform kink" fandoms; LOTR, Dragaera, Vagrant Story, Temeraire, and FFVII are my xenokink/interspecies kink fandoms; Loveless and HP are my "age difference kink" fandoms.)

NO. Emphatically no.
3) Is there a writing style that you associate with these fandoms/pairings (e.g. D/s or kink, long build-ups, mpreg, kidfic, romance, PWPs etc.)
I'm fabulously picky when it comes to Holmesfic -- if it doesn't "sound" like the original, I can't stand it. (As you can guess, my Holmes folder is tiny...) To a lesser degree, I have the same issue with Dragaera, Discworld, and Good Omens fic.

No, not really. In fact, I have the opposite problem -- I'm looking for it and not finding it!
5) How big is your fandom? Does it get a lot of fic posted?
...HAHAHAhaha! Which one? HP is huge; Temeraire is new but growing rapidly; Eroica is tiny; Gundam Wing is huge but 98% of it is focused on pairings I don't like; Nemo is practically nonexistent.
