The real problem is when he says, sarcastically, to his friend Emo Boy, "oh, hell, the world is ending." There's a whole story arc where he changes his name to Doctor Self-Fulfilling Prophecy and is the villain of the piece. Mostly the world is saved through the power of pouting and sad lyrics.
