I have white noise tracks on my iPod; mostly thunderstorms, but also ocean sounds and random frogs and birds and stuff. If you're interested in any of those (because, man, they are SO GOOD for sleeping) I can upload some for you.
Because I have to be contrary, the best night sleep listening to music that I've ever had was on a 'plane (where I NEVER normally sleep) listening to My Chemical Romance. They're weirdly... soothing.
Here are some of the smaller files that I could upload quickly. If they work for you and you want more, I have something like 12 hours worth. It'll just take longer to upload the bigger files.
I concur with bohemian_storm, white noise tracks are great, so is meditation music.
Also, a lot of Brahms is very relaxing, so is some Beethoven and Satie. But it's more about programming your brain to associate different types of music with sleep. Good luck.
Sound of the rainforest. or thunderstorms (if that won't keep you up)
Just, you know, potty before bed... and make sure any one that might end up sleeping in your bed goes, even if he or she says they don't have to go. (not that there's any story behind that or anything) (Srsly) (At least it wasn't me)
(god. This sounds rly perverted... It wasn't at all. And I'm going to shut up now...)

Date: 2009-01-06 09:05 pm (UTC)Seriously, having these things on my iPod was the only thing that let me get any sleep when I was dealing with my insane neighbours.
