Since I've not done much but post fic lately, I feel I ought to make a general update on the State of the Nny, only I'm not entirely sure what to say. I'm good, I guess? Mostly I'm pretty tired, but in a more healthy getting-up-at-5:45-and-having-loud-neighbours way than the depression weight that used to hang on all my limbs (and eyelids). I know I've mentioned I love my job - there's an inspector wandering around school at present, but it doesn't directly affect me; it's made staff considerably more stressed, and it's made my first week of teaching harder because I can't really get as much support with it as I'd like, but the support that has been shown has been pretty great.

I'm taking on two new roles, I dunno if I mentioned - four hours a week teaching some EAL (English as an Additional Language) students, and unnumbered hours being the EAL representative for my school house. Not sure entirely what the latter involves yet, althought there'll be some resource differentiation, talking to social workers, ensuring students are happy etc.

Mostly my brain is buzzing with ideas for stories, and mostly I'm not allowing myself to be self-conscious about writing them, which is just fantastic. There's another step that needs to be taken - I need to actually proofread, edit, work with betas and work towards improving - but for now the fact that I'm actually putting words out there is enough for me.

Most of the time, when I talk on my journal, it's because I'm trying to apologise for not having written. Right now I'm writing and I'm not talking, but it's for a different reason entirely; there's not much in my life I have time for outside of writing, right now, and it's making me happy that it's coming so easy. So I hope you'll forgive me if my journal's pretty original-fic orientated for a little while.

I figure, if there's fic coming from the nny (especially oroginal fic), but no journal entries, then there's a probably-happy nny on the other side of the screen. 'cause you're a writer, particularly in the sense that writing makes you happy. :)
