This here is a VALENTINES MESSAGE POST

Send your friends a hug, confess to crushes, leave a message for someone you're unreasonably fond of, whatever you want. All messages will remain screened until Valentines Day. This isn't just for couples, it's for anyone you think deserves a little love. Anonymous or not, you're free to choose; just make sure you include the LJ name of the recipient.

I don't know if you've read it, kids these days, but in my favorite book? The Courtyard Hound? Ushakovo, man! Well he keeps going on about how basically Valentine's Day is a falsehood invented by the inhumanity of man to man, carrying forth like nobody's business, until somebody shows up at his door with sugar cookies and then he's cool with it. He gets very drunk and writes drunken limericks on everyone's doors. It's very moving. Particularly of note is the passage in which he goes and finds his best friend and gives him the rest of the sugar cookies and a bottle of vodka and then passes out on his doorstep, and when his best friend looks down, he manages to slur, "I LOVESH YOU" in, you know, Russian at the last possible minute before unconciousness.

You should totally read it, because I am in no way projecting my affection on to him!
