nnyJust spent way too long pottering about on etymonline.com and wikipedia, comparing various bits and pieces to see whether arse would be appropriate for Merlin fanfic.
I am still so, so angry, for the record, that they cancelled all the history of English modules on my uni course. That was why I took the course, mostly. Instead I got stuck with hours upon hours of systemic bloody functional grammar, with only one module - the evolution of human communication, which I still draw so many hearts all over - to make the three years even remotely bearable.
Want to go back and learn more, dammit. I'm not a natural academic, and I'm certainly not very bright, but I still make grabby hands at MAs.
