nnyGod I wish I could afford to get to the sea.

Slowly cooking myself to a crisp (properly suntan lotioned, of course) and reading Raymond Chandler. God, I love his prose, it's perfectly ridiculous, with the occasional passage that makes you think yes. God, yes, that's it exactly.
One I particularly liked today was:
His voice seemed to come to me from a long way off, over a hill, through a thick silent growth of trees.
Someone should take me to the beach and buy me an ice cream now, I think. I'd read to them in return, or tell them stories from my brain, or teach them about pirates, or build them a sandcastle. I'd be good at it, too.
