Aug. 24th, 2009 11:21 amIt's not just NCIS going on in the house of Nny right now; over the past two days I have also learned how to do stockinette stitch and ribbing. That's, like, progress towards knitting actual things! Admittedly it is procrastination, but it's also keeping my hands occupied while I'm getting finished with the wonderful world of McGeek and DiNozzo. Once that's done the plan for the day is a big tidy and clean of the flat, followed by beta, followed by a bit of writing, with the scholastic stuff I've been neglecting taking place over the rest of the week.
I'm still unbumping the road of my brain-weirdnesses; I've moved past hating myself for every second I'm not working (but still not working) to allowing myself time off from working (but still not working). Need to get to a point where the work times are worky and the non-work times are guilt free. This is the plan that I have.
I'm also going to sort out the stupid amount of books I have. I've decided that it's just silly owning all the Sayers and all the Pratchetts and such - I really don't have the space for it, so I'm going for a couple of the best from each series, until I have an actual house with more of your actual bookshelves. (Ooh, sudden language glitch; last sentence made me want to write the Them again some more. XD) The rest of the books will be kept or disposed of as I actually get around to reading them.
So for the Sayers I'm thinking Strong Poison, Gaudy Night and Busman's Honeymoon. For the Pratchetts, Small Gods, Night Watch and... possibly Lords and Ladies? Dammit, that one's going to take a bit of thinking about. (Temeraire and the Aubrey/Maturin books are exempt. They have boats.)
