Comment and I'll say something I like about you, plus recommend a book or movie I think you'd be interested in.
Nonsense possible, I think I have a temperature.

Date: 2009-10-15 07:08 pm (UTC)As for recs, would the links to the season 1 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=E3FI6BTJ) and season 2 (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=V9NHGLT7) Sports Night gag reels count? Because 'think you'd enjoy' is kind of an understatement...

Date: 2009-10-15 07:11 pm (UTC)And I think you'd enjoy Iris Murdoch, if you haven't already read. (This is the problem with memes like this - having a cultured friends list. You guys are supposed to teach me things!) Anyway - particular mental flavour of cynicism and snark that I really enjoyed and thought you'd appreciate.

Date: 2009-10-15 07:13 pm (UTC)You, I think, would like The Vintner's Luck if you haven't already read it. It has gayness and angels! But also it has really gorgeous descriptions, and the end makes me tear up.

Date: 2009-10-15 07:13 pm (UTC)(It helps that they can all actually sing and dance. Including the dude in the wheelchair. And that one of them is the cutest little baby-gay ever and I just want to hug him.)

Date: 2009-10-15 07:17 pm (UTC)I love how deeply you think about things, how you can summarise a book beautifully and be aware of where it falls down and warn for that while still squeeing about it. I tend to get blinded by squee, so I respect the edge of rationality to your thoughts.
For you, I recommend a film called Nothing, which has David Hewlett in, and is possibly the weirdest thing I have ever watched ever. O.O I still kinda prod the memory of it cautiously, every now and again, to see if it actually existed.

Date: 2009-10-15 07:28 pm (UTC)I think you should try Stitch (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Stitch-Tommy-Kovac/dp/0943151295/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1255634738&sr=8-8) by Tommy Kovac. It's like if a baby Gaiman - who hadn't quite got his writing mojo on yet - had written a gay comic. It's kind of weird and cute and is dedicated to the guys RL boyfriend, which makes it all the more adorable. :D

Date: 2009-10-15 07:29 pm (UTC)You should read Saki, if you haven't. OMG THE FABULOSITY OF THE SNARK.

Date: 2009-10-15 07:39 pm (UTC)Also, I love you for thinking I'm rational, because that's not something I hear too often. *giggling* Also, though, I love your levels of squee! And how even if I know nothing about what you're excited about, you can make me excited for its awesomeness anyways.
. . . I am intrigued and unnerved by this, and will make a note at the library. :D

Date: 2009-10-15 09:24 pm (UTC)(I don't, as in I haven't seen the whole thing, but I have seen enough to know that Ryan is who Kurt learned all his gay from - except Kurt has better fashion sense - and also that Ryan and I-think-his-name's-Chad-the-one-who-plays-baseball are really really really gay for each other, in a 'how exactly did that song where dancing is clearly a euphemism for gay sex get anywhere near the Disney channel?' way, but Ryan would SO go there anyway. LOL.)
