Top of oven was just so hot skin stuck to it. Water so cold my bones hurt massively.

ETA: doesn't hurt that much yet, there's just a patch of weird and crispy on my hand. MAYBE IT WILL GIVE ME SPECIAL POWERS.

If you can keep it in really, really cold water for as long as possible, it will help it heal without scarring. There have been studies done on that, and immersing a burn in cold water really works.

I hate burning myself, and do it all too often. I had a massive one from the oven on my arm once, and it scared for about a year but has faded now. Keep putting cold water on it, you absolutely cannot overdo that. And have some pain killers now, and then in 4 hours, they'll help you sleep tonight. Have paracetamol and ibuprofen or asperin for as long as it hurts: people are often funny about taking the pain relief they need, and neither of them will harm you.

Also, sympathies. I once managed to give one of my fingers a nasty burn on a soldering iron - that hurt like hell for a while.
