Hmm.

Goodies and Baddies party next weekend, apparently. So far my only tempting idea is Clark Kent, is that bad? Any suggestions?

(I'm kind of in a foul temper today but I refuse to let it interfere with my geek.)

(... man, I wish I had a geek to refuse to let it interfere with...)

*laughs helplessly*

I do not know enough geeks to get anything other than completely uncomfortable weird looks if I do that, but OMG IT IS SO TEMPTING. Why are there no geeks in Gloucester?

...I feel like that should segue into a musical number with mice, or something.

Cause there are NO GEEKS in Gloucestershire and the streets are paved with bli-ing...

I think you should wear this.

Hee, my geeks are also on the internet, but far too many of them require a swim to see. Absolutely, hi! :D

I shall have to look for a scholar of my own, or at least a diverting book. Gonna be done with Fly By Night far too quickly.

The only book I've read is her book about writing. It's dreadful and I really should get onto it - my flatmate at Uni was so dreadfully literate and a born academic, and I kind of revolted against everything she was keen on because I secretly thought I wasn't bright enough for it. I've recently come to the conclusion that I'm brighter than I've allowed myself, and the things I don't know I can work out soon enough. Self confidence is a wonderful thing, when newly acquired. :D

Mostly I was just lazy before, and so afraid of failing I didn't bother trying to think about anything. Hence the vaguely more thinky and opinionated posts in my journal of late.

I try not to go by what I 'ought' to read - mostly at the moment I'm trying to get through the backlog that results from being helplessly drawn to secondhand bookshops to the extent of working in one for a while and getting paid in books.
