Didn't get the job. They said they really liked my personality, and the interview part almost made them change their minds, but the lesson I taught was too safe and not fast paced enough, and that I didn't put a positive enough spin on some question answers. They also thought I should wear lighter coloured nailvarnish.

I don't think it helped my case that the job has come up because an NQT (Newly Qualified Teacher - what I'd be) they had didn't make the grade.

I'm disappointed, but I'm getting straight back on the TES website. I just wish teaching interviews weren't so bleedin' grueling.

It's really not my week.

Are you effing serious? Really? /o\

I'm sorry, hon. But at least the other FB was good? IDK, I hated interviews too. :( *hugs*

Yeeeeeeeah. Clearly wasn't the place for me, if only for that.

I just need to take time out to put together some stock AWESOMETASTICAL lessons in case of interviews. Need to read less fanfic or something. ¬_¬

*hugs* I'm sorry :( But that's all really useful feedback (except for the nailvarnish thing; that's just weird) and they liked you which is a definite plus.

They actually commented on your NAIL VARNISH??? How odd. I'm sure you'll get one - I expect they were put off by the current NQT. The place I do my care work won't take me as a nurse when I qualify (not that I think it's the right place to start, but still) because they had a previous bad experience from a newly-qualified. That puts them off even though they've known, and employed, me for over a year.

I guess they would be good to have in hand anyway... if you have the opportunity/energy/etc...

*hugs* ...they were looking at your nails? Um. WTF?

But, hey - you got good feedback from it, and it did sound like they liked you! ♥ Keep going at it!!

Seconding (or, like, fifth-ing) the 'what the hell, they commented on your nails?' reaction. That's a bit bizarre.

Good for you for getting right back in there though! Interviews are rough business at the best of times, and yours sounds a lot more involved than the standard-issue "Where do you see yourself in five years?" type ones. So much good luck and strength to you!

*HUGS* I'm glad that they at least gave you some good feedback.

Dude, teacher interviews as so exhausting. Not only the interview part, but the part where you have to teach and PEOPLE WATCH YOU and you DON'T KNOW THE KIDS and eeek.

I need to work on that part myself, my brain always melts a little bit in the midst of the process.

*squishes so hard* Yeah, I remember teacher interview hell. Not fun times. But! They gave you really useful feedback which can only help. And I found the job I ended up really loving after not getting a few that I thought I would like. The right one is just WAITING for you.

Aww I'm sorry to hear that *hugs*

But, they complained about your nails? They sound... really kind of picky. :/

I'm so sorry - teaching interviews suck so much. If it helps, I tanked (I guess - they never said and I was too chickenshit to ask). We're both fabulous and search committees suck.

Oh, yeesh, it sounds like it's good that you didn't end up there and miserable, but that is a lot of energy. *hug* Does thinking of it as practice help?

*cuddles you more*
