Depends on whether I'm referring to the sin or the animal.

The first is the animal, the second is the deadly sin.

(Or at least that's how I'd probably say it if I weren't thinking so hard about pronunciation.)

I only ever refer to the animal. :D IT IS NOT A SIN, IT IS A WAY OF LIFE! \o/

"sloh-th" = sin
"slow-th" = animal

Sloth to rhyme with rogue.

And that goes for the sin as well as the mammal.

Yeah, I use the first one for the sin, second for the cute, sleepy animal.

I use the rhymes-with-goth pronunciation for the animal and the sin way of life, though I don't know what's considered technically correct. If it's a particularly cute sloth, it's a sluff.

I too use the rhymes-with-goth kind for both animal and sin. I don't know if that's officially correct or not, but it's what I grew up hearing.

Of course, as an American with a mostly-Midwesternish accent, sl-ah-th sounds acceptable too... *laughing* I say it with an o, though.

Forgot to use my sloth icon! For shame, self.</small.
