Do not want reiki, hypno, alternative, faith, relationship, mediated. Google is unhelpful, and autobiographical profiles equally so. How the hell does one go about finding a counsellor? :/

In more chipper news, I went through a drive-through carwash yesterday and I swear I haven't had as much fun in ages. My stomach thought I was on a fairground ride, a log flume or something, and I was half expecting to come out from under the floppy tentacles to find a massive drop on the other side. There was no massive drop but I got the adrenaline anyway, bubbling out of me in ridiculous giggles that kept tears leaking out of me for a good ten minutes after it was done.

I also had some sex I quite enjoyed this week, which was a first, but (NO OFFENSE) the car wash was actually kinda funner?

¬_¬

I fail at being a grown up, seriously.

(Majority of the week sucked, don't want to talk about it, but at least there were high points. :D)

I have still never been through a car wash, but I kinda think it will blow sex out of the water. I just thought that was me.

Counsellor wise, have you asked your GP? That how I got mine, although she was crap.

I think your GP is the place to start for counselling. If that goes nowhere, I can find out where brother found his, although since he's in London that may not help.

Usually referrals through a medical person -- a doctor etc, but referrals through friends/acquaintances also. Also if you have health insurance (I can't remember how it works where you are), there might be a listing of providers on their listings?

I'm going to be a bit presumptuous and say, you almost certainly want someone who does "cognitive behavioral therapy." That is really the "gold standard" now in therapy for a whole host of issues. This doesn't mean they also don't talk/listen, but it does mean they come up with specific things to work on your thought processes and behaviors, which is shown to be the most effective type of therapy for, well, *almost* all things (idk precisely what you're going for). So personally, once I got recs, I'd ask at their offices what type of therapy they did. CBT should be at least part of the answer imo. <333

Conclusion, who needs sex when you can wash the car?

Personal recommendation is best for counsellors, but failing that, try the British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapists - they have a website where you can search for registered therapists. xx

OMG have you tried the car washes with the tri-colour foam? If there's a lot of light coming through, it's like you're in a rainbow bubble :DDDD
