I... really gotta actually watch that at some point. I think I managed the first episode before my embarrassment squick got to me, but every so often I remember that the rest of it is there waiting for me.
How does it particularly set off your embarrassment squick, if I may ask? :)
It really is so very very worth watching. I had serious doubts that it was going to explain everything to my satisfaction by the end, but the ending absolutely delighted me.
Oh, it's--the same way Benton Fraser tended to set it off, this sense of YOU SHOULD BE REALLY EMBARRASSED BUT YOU DON'T KNOW IT. So all the ways Alex behaves when she first arrives in the past, refusing to treat it as real, were... hard to watch for me, idk. I had a bit of that with Sam in LoM at times, too, but I think Alex was worse because of course she's so absolutely sure that it's not real. I expect that that would settle down as she acclimated, so it's not a real obstacle to watching the rest of the show, just something that made the first episode less immediately fun for me than I expected.
I know you're full up on head-traumatized time travelers, but just in case, please remember that whenever you want to *try* A2A again, make an IM date with me and I will breathe through the embarrassment squick with you.
