An Excellent weekend, all round
Feb. 2nd, 2004 08:26 amHad an absolutely fantastic weekend. It went a little pear shaped at the end, and I have to go to the train station and see if I can get my £41 back, but apart from that...
I went shopping with mightytom on Saturday, trawling around many a comic shop, book shop and CD shop. I ended up with a copy of Herodotus' Histories, and albums by Amon Tobin and Anti Pop Consortium. We popped into the British Museum, very briefly, just before closing. There was some fantastic Native American stuff, and a room full of glass cases of books which I wanted to steal, and various Egyptian things. I managed to look quite clever, because I don't know *that* much about anything but I knew enough to have little anecdotes about various things. I'm not that bright, but I can fake it well enough for the casual observer. =) Then we went back to his, and his flatmates fed me stilton soup and hotpot and we watched Reality Bites and Secretary. (Sexy, sexy film. Guh.)
Then on Sunday I met up with
autumnchestnut which was absolutely *fantastic*. She's a lovely lass, and I think we got on pretty well, and it was so nice a) to talk about slash, and b) to not have to constantly apologise for my geeky tendencies, which I have to do with many people I know. We wandered around Camden for hours, and Oxford Street, and ate gorgeous food, and bought gorgeous things... I bought;
A Mind The Gap underground tshirt (the Neverwhere geek in me insisted), a star ring, a star bracelet, a papyrus painting of Ra (which is gorgeous) and BEER. *g*
It was a huge amount of fun, and I'm gonna have to do this again. April, perhaps? :D
