He's staring at the Map, but he doesn't see the blank parchment. His eyes are focused somewhere far away and years ago. Familiar faces of people that no longer exist, laughing at the old man he's become. He shakes his head.

"I solemnly swear I am up to no good."

A pause. Then familiar handwriting scrawls slowly across the page.

/Moony?/

He closes his eyes for a moment, and when he opens them again the word is gone and the map has appeared. His hand is shaking, and the paper flutters. It is a second before he can see anything on the parchment.

"Peter?!"

He runs from the room.

Gah. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I never thought I was the greatest of writers, but now it seems like everything I touch goes wrong. Nothing sounds like it's intended to. Blocked.

So what advice have you got? How can I improve what I'm doing? How do I get past this bigfatwritersblock that's sitting in front of me?

[/selfpity], I promise. Just slept badly, had crazy dreams that made me guilty and weepy, and it's raining. I like rain, but not the kind that just hangs in the air and you have to walk into. It's dispiriting. I like the kind where it hurts. That's *good* rain.

I quit whining, and started writing. I think it might be working. Fingers crossed, hey. =)

And ygrane, did you get my email? My account keeps returning mails to me. *kicks hotmail*.
