nny: (bring me that horizon)
Mostly I hate the fact that even when I have my computer back I won't have time to catch up. STOP BEING INTERESTING IN MY ABSENCE! Mostly my sanity is being maintained by the niceness of everyone on my course (seriously, everyone) and pretty much nightly phonecalls with [livejournal.com profile] soupytwist. It sucks more than I can possibly articulate that I don't get to live with her this year; shared houses in Bath are just seriously thin on the ground. :/

I fail at writing longhand, also, which sucks, 'cos I have an awesome SG:A idea that I really want to get going on. I'm mostly hoarding snippets of it in various places and bimbling around the mythology of it.

Oh! Oh! And the highlight of my day yesterday was that now I have cow socks and giraffe underwear. :D!!!

There are all sorts of things I ought to be saying, but I tend to get on the computer at, like, 8am. This is before coherent thought. Mornings should not exist, but my bed actually sucks and I'm sleeping horribly. So. You get nonsensical bouncing! YAY!

Going to read [livejournal.com profile] cesperanza's latest this weekend, so please tell me nothing about it, 'k?

Today is for library orientation and the Holborn Museum of Art, while I still have free time. If I have your address on my list (one of the few non-clothes things I brought) you may well get a postcard. If I don't have your address on there, feel free to mail it to me: annysthetized(at)gmail.com.

Oh, and one more thing? [livejournal.com profile] pentapus is an absolute genius. I commissioned an angel from her (I'm collecting them, I think) and you can see it here. Seriously, go tell her she's awesome.

Oh god, I think I just had a joygasm.

There's this thing, see, where I did no work at Cardiff Uni. To the extent of not really going into the library much, at all. Here, I'm actually interested, and I had to go and get a book about sociology that I remembered from A-level to see if I could do an Educational Professional Study based on it. So I went upstairs and was vaguely intimidated by the periodicals; OMG, though, the lights are motion activated. It's so cool. And while I was looking for the education section I ran across the geography part with all the accounts of explorers, and then there was the Greek History part, and so many books and pretty much all of them looked interesting and seriously, how can you ever stop reading? I just want to make a home for myself among the shelves and never ever leave. (Except for the part where you're not allowed tea.)

Okay, quick question, since I'm spamming today - should I make a filter for my journal? Are you actually even remotely interested in hearing about what I'm doing while working towards qualified teacher status? Because I'm actually finding a lot of this interesting, and there's a danger that I'll bore you all senseless with my thoughts about artificially accelerated learning and SATS and assessment standards and all that sort of gumpf. There's a distinct possibility that I'll forget and just spam you all anyway, I just want to know in advance if I'm going to piss anyone off doing it. :D
