nny: (william dampier is harder than you)
Sorry, guys. Temporary mental blip. Mostly back on track, now.

\o/!

I've just wandered around finding bits on aborigines by Mark Twain and William Dampier (\o/) so now I just have to get hold of Down Under by Bill Bryson and I've got another lesson sorted. Once I work out what I'm actually doing it's really not so hard as all that.

Knackered, though.

To do tonight: work out a structure and make up a supportive sheet thing for the Year 7s - they're writing their first essay - and come up with a whole bunch of questions to ask the year 9s about a Michael Palin video I'm going to show them tomorrow. In the hopes that it'll mean they're a little less loud than they were today.

(My head.)

One of the senior management was in the back of my class, since the actual class teacher was away on a trip; I really don't want to know what he thought about the amount of noise they were making. At least they seemed to enjoy the lesson...

(Also, quick reminder prod type thing for anyone planning to come see me on my birthday weekend celebration thang.)
nny: (zomg tired)
Is it sad that one of the driving reasons keeping me on my course, right now - along with my mother's disappointment should I drop out - is that I have now bought lots of course books, four poetry books and a Michael Palin DVD in order to teach lessons, and I don't want to have wasted all that money. It's sad, isn't it? And that sentence was haphazardly punctuated but I'm very tired.

I want to keep on the course because I want to be on the course, too, but my wants habitually come low on the list.

Ah well. Sleepy, and I had mulled cider which makes things better. Oh, and I found pretty Christmas presents for [livejournal.com profile] indy_go and [livejournal.com profile] tropes, too, except I think I will go back and get one more suited to [livejournal.com profile] tropes possibly tomorrow, so I can keep one, too.
