I have complicated reactions to Outcast. Mostly because of the meta I've read.
seperis's post was certainly eye-opening as to how different interpretations of character can be;
hth_the_first's was even more so and has pretty much decided me on not reading her episode reviews any more - except for the last point. She explained something in the episode absolutely beautifully and I just flail in the general direction of the writers, really. I'd be more coherent but I'm tired; mostly I think what I want to say is that the team represent family to me in the strongest possible terms, and emotional outpourings would undermine that. A certain subset of fandom seems to think that not acknowledging/talking about feelings is in some way damaged, but the team mock each other heartlessly, beat each other up when necessary, teach each other ways to survive in the world, indicate that they are there for talking should talking be necessary (please, please no) and wordlessly support each other without needing to talk about the whys and the hows. To me, that is family, and to me that is unquestioning, unconditional love.
Like I say, sleepy and possibly senseless. Still.
OH! Also! What the hell football? *makes shooing motions*
ALSO also: double beds = frickin' AWESOME.
