(no subject)

So I'm thinking that there's only so long you can keep caring about someone who is not making measurable progress towards sanity before you get to the stage where you want to punch them in the face and tell them to SHAPE UP, GODDAMMIT! I suspect I'm swiftly approaching face-punching territory, so I'm going to attempt to shut up slightly more unless I have something to say.

Today, I confess, I don't have much to say, since I'm mostly failing to write and tidying my room. Oh, and getting increasingly pissed off at the number of cars that are parked along this road. Just - this road is almost entirely populated by students. I really don't see the need for every one of them to own a car. I realise this is different when you live in a country that involves actual distances between places, but in most parts of the UK, especially in urban areas, you can walk 'most everywhere you want to go and if you can't there's a bus that'll take you there. I'd rather a status symbol that doesn't play merry hob with the environment, thank you.

Speaking of status symbols, unamaga is kind of the best thing in the world and set up a beautiful website for me. It's still totally in progress - I think I have everything Due South, Good Omens, Sports Night and Stargate Atlantis posted already, but there are still chunks that need updating.

Yes, I'm tense as hell about the election. I can't do anything about it; many of you can, many of you have, and I'm crossing my fingers for you.



Since I can't do anything, I'm thinking, and what I'm thinking about is fandom-approved sex acts. I mean, I've been reading quite a bit of Sentinel fic lately, and there seems to be an awful lot of fic involving rimming. I'd assume it was related to the enhanced senses, writers wanting to explore that, but it's generally Blair doing the actual tongue parts. I'm intrigued as to why this is; I'm also intrigued as to other fandom-based patterns. So a few questions to distract you all:

1) What fandoms/pairings do you follow?
2) Is there a particular sex act that you associate with these fandoms/pairings?
2b) How about pet names?
3) Is there a writing style that you associate with these fandoms/pairings (e.g. D/s or kink, long build-ups, mpreg, kidfic, romance, PWPs etc.)
4) Does this association mesh with your preferences? Do you think you've noticed this particular style/act because you've been looking for it particularly?
5) How big is your fandom? Does it get a lot of fic posted?

Please share any thoughts you have on the matter, too.

I have no idea if I'll be able to draw any conclusions from this, I'm just totally curious. :)
