Mr Scruff is awesome beyond awesomeness, okay. You don't understand. He sells teapots and aprons and bananas at his gigs, and he has used samples from the BBC radio production of Hitchhikers' Guide, and he has at least four utterly ridiculous songs about fish, and his music is used everywhere including on Spaced, and just Wail, okay? And for [livejournal.com profile] foreverdirt particularly, in case she reads this, the Hitchhikers' one Limbic Funk.

OKAY! And I have the ingredients for leek and potato (leek and potaaaaaato, leek and potAAAAAAto dun-dun-dun-DUUUUUUN!) soup, so I can now fester a little more happily in my flat and not go out. I haven't washed up yet but so far I call today a win and will go watch 50 First Dates apparently.

I have been an exceedingly sad little munchkin and created a cooking comm called [livejournal.com profile] kitchenny_bits. It's open membership, and is basically a place for those of us who cannot claim to be cooks without laughing helplessly. I'm going to be shoving some recipes in there with my own particular brand of recipe writing, which tends towards the ridiculous and nonsensical, and possibly posting playlists I like to cook by, disasters, recipe books I get on with... whatever I fancy really. And I would really encourage you guys to do the same, mostly because I want to steal your tasty, tasty foodins.

There will be no technical terms, unless you want me tugging on your sleeve and asking (with big eyes! You cannot resist the big eyes!) for clarification in tiny, tiny words.
