I don't often recommend original fic, because tastes are so different and just because you like what I do in the fannish world doesn't necessarily make us that similar, but I seriously recommend this without any reservation at all.

One of the most lovely, perfectly formed pieces of fiction I've ever read, built so carefully and put together so skilfully that the end left me sobbing even after only 1000 words.

I just stayed up past bedtime on the day before school starts so that I could change my ringtone to this and my alarm to this.

I have NO IDEA how I will react to this. But my totem's beside the bed...
