The Secret Service were doing their jobs. However, what disturbs me is the culture of fear that led some asshat to report what was quite clearly a joke. The paranoia that the president seems to feed into and feed off. The offer of a couch still stands, and that's all I'm saying about it.

Anyway. Watched Sleeping Beauty last night, and it's astounding how bad the animation and sound was. I completely forgot how old it was. I was also slashing the good fairies in my head...

What's the thoughts on this? I shall create a poll, that'll be fun. *g*

Where's the slash? I never used to notice it, and now everywhere I look there are big fluffy mountains of gay. (Incidentally, that was what Tolkien initially wanted to call Mount Doom). Am I imagining it all, or merely embroidering what could be innocent?

WERD.

And dude, I know. It's so BIZARRE to revisit the Disney classics. I love them to itty-bitty bits, but what always strikes me is the utter and complete lack of detail in the backgroud animation, in comparison to the intricate WOAH-ness of recent animated movies. In fact, I think you can almost pin-point the transition between the older, cruder films and the slick modern ones. It's 'The Lion King'.

...I've thought waaay too much about this, haven't I?

Okay. Whilst I support the CONCEPT of Fairy Godmother slash, I have to ask you to please not write it. Because. OW my brain, and OW my childhood.

Seriously, though. Do I ever write? Ever?

Dude, Zazu/Scar totally kicks Iago/Rajah's arse. TOTALLY. For one, in Z/S, BOTH parties are Teh Snark. Rajah is like a big demented tiger-puppy. AND, Z/S has BONDAGE and DIRTY SONGS.

As has been pointed out elsewhere (http://www.websnark.com/archives/2004/10/i_get_asked_eve.html), we don't know who reported the post, and it may not be some asshat taking a joke seriously. There are people who are required to report every threat they see - because there are also people who write legitimate threats that wish fatal harm on heads of state or celebrities in exactly that fashion, knowing that other people will respond with "Oh, he's just joking" and never consider that these people might actually act on their hostility.

On the other hand, it might just be some random jackass trying to cause a disturbance. The world may never know.

It's 'The Lion King'.

Are you sure? Beauty and the Beast and Aladdin have always looked pretty good to me, WRT background animation. I'd go with Beauty and the Beast as the transition point.

...now I'm going to have to go home and watch those all again, damn your eyes. :)

Beauty an the Beast was te first with computer aided graphics, but it looks bloody clunky now. Also the last before there was a "best animated picture" Oscar, 'cos it was nominated for best pic.

How do I know this stuff?

Doesn't mean it's not a masterpiece, though. 'Cos duuuude. I know I love me some 'Beauty and the Beast'. Still makes me cry, sometimes.

...shutup.
