Does anyone want a badge, perchance?

I used to be a punk, see. My first experience of a gay bar was when I went to a punk gig upstairs in Voltz in Southampton (under new management now, it's not what it was, too many people getting beat up, I guess. Southampton is cheap rate London, but less openminded). The windows were broken and the speakers were for shit, people playing angry punk music with the traces of '80s anthems in the background. I met a man named Saul and stroked his head - he drank cider and black (Winona Ryder in the sack) and played drums for a Dead Kennedys tribute band.

Most of the night, though, was downstairs in the gay bar, drinking tequila slammers and cocktails, staggering down to the cash point to get more money, hugging exceedingly friendly men who danced on a cleared space maybe five feet square. The longest period I spent upstairs was at the very beginning, when I spent a while selecting which badges I'd buy from a noticeboard of punk sentiments and bands I'd never heard of. And then I went downstairs and sang 'I will surivive' at the top of my voice.

I was never much of a punk.

If you want a badge, then, leave your address. I have twenty two random ones going spare - a few I'm keeping, that people have given me and such. Basically, I will pick a badge from the bag at random for you, so you're not to be offended by the choice. Some are pictures, some are small local bands, some are bigger bands, some are random faintly punk sentiments. And an action man one, too. So the badge you get is no reflection on you, it's just the luck of the draw.
