Jul. 19th, 2005 08:08 pmBecause today hasn't really been the best of days, and I have a headache and I seem to be on a health-plateau which is kinda... shitty feeling, but not enough to go to a doctor. I want to think about nice things. So, stolen from
blythely;
Ask me for "top five" lists of pretty much anything, and I will list you my top five of that thing or things.

Date: 2005-07-20 06:23 am (UTC)Er, can I count 'Hay on Wye' as a bookshop? Because it is, essentially, a town made of books. It's like heaven. I need to go back there again.
-Hay on Wye (particularly the open air bit by the castley thing)
-Blackrock market (beautiful 1920s TE Lawrence book that I fell in love with)
-Albany Bookshop, Cardiff (they paid me in books. Doesn't get much better)
-er er... 'Chapters', possibly? In Dublin.
-Oxfam bookshop in Southampton. And the one in Winchester. And Cardiff. Oxfam bookshops in general, really. Cheap, and charitable. Maaaahvellous.

-*cheats* everyone on my friendslist (http://www.livejournal.com/users/villainny/friends/). I wouldn't have 'em on my friendslist if they didn't make me happy. Livejournal makes life worth living, some days.

Date: 2005-07-20 09:59 am (UTC)-choral (Tavener, Thomas Tallis, Karl Jenkins, etc.)
-weird atmospheric songs (Mogwai, Amon Tobin, Godspeed you black emperor)
-pretty indie tales (the weakerthans, the decemberists)
-silliness (they might be giants, the bobs, silly folk songs)
-bad bad bad crack songs (dragostea din tei, blue (da ba dee) etc.)
I'm a bad person. XD
It depends on the day of the week though, really. I could always make you a CD...?

Date: 2005-07-20 10:06 am (UTC)-The Them, older (because I have the ways they've turned out and the reasons why all in my head, and I need to write more about them - I've loved working out how they'd grow up, and how the relationships between them would evolve)
-Billy Tallent (who I miss terribly - he didn't get much play in milliways after the cabal he was a part of fell apart. I love the way he feels in my head - kinda energised and twitchy and itchy. He has a unique head-voice)
-The Marquis de Carabas (I've not played him enough in Milliways, but he has an absolutely fascinating potential. There's a world of stories I could tell about him, I suspect, but I think I need to improve my writing first or he'd be offended)
-Ted Tonks, weirdly enough. (He's appeared fully formed in my head, and I'm trying to work out why he is the way he is. He's endless fun to play)
