More spam! By way of [livejournal.com profile] daegaer.

Option 1:
Name a pairing (that I'm familiar with, in a fandom I'm familiar with) and I will write one line of a story for it.

Option 2:
Ask me my opinion on any character from any fandom, and I will give it to you. If I do not know the fandom, I will say what I think I know based on fannish osmosis.
Or, like, entirely make something up on the spot. That is also possible.

Name the fandom, please? Otherwise I may rant about the wrong one. ;)

Also, how do you pronounce Barthes? Argument with older sibling.

Option 1: Zaphod/Ford? (HHG)

Option 2: what do you think of Lucius Malfoy? (HP)

"You've got your little earthperson, Zaphod, why shouldn't I have mine and incidentally that hand thing you do is not a part of the dance and I will never be able to look my boss in the face again!"

Heh. I write you another one later. That was somehow Ford/Arthur. *shakes head and sighs*

Lucius Malfoy was interesting when Jason Isaacs played him. I thoroughly adore the way he said 'now now, Draco, play nicely'. It made me want him. Other than that, I can't say that I really have any interest in him as a character. He's a drone, to me. He hasn't really done anything that has interested me, although I leave my mind open. I am willing to be persuaded. XD

01. :xxxx

02. The reason I like him is because he's immature, petty, snotty, has anger issues, is inept, is pretty stupid (all things considered), bitchy, manipulative ... he's like, he SHOULD be the perfect villian: evil, nasty, cold ... but he isn't. His schemes never work! He's clueless! That endears me to him. He's such a fuck-up and I love him for it. Plus, he's snarky and mean to Draco. I love him being the exasperated parent. "I've heard this at least a dozen times already." I loved how he put that little bitch in his place. In front of SOMEONE ELSE, oh snaps. But he loves his family! Voldemort could've just Crucio'ed Lucius, but he picked something he knew would hurt the worst ... his only child. Poor Lucius. He has screwed up his life so badly. He better take a long hard look at it or he's going to end up DEAD. As much as it kills me, I'm opting for redemption, because that means ... he won't die. Which I'm sure he will. Wah.

ANYWAY. UH. Point?

(do you still want icons?)

Hey! Something I know! I pronounced it, thought I'd pronounced it wrong and started babbling at the tutors in my interview about how I'd only ever read a lot of words, and never ever heard them said because I preferred books to people. Prof. Rivers smiled in a 'get her out of here' sort of way, and admitted she thought it was 'Bart' because he's French.

The Vampire Lestat. Because he was my first Milliways character and I have no idea if you've ever heard of him.

I DO still want icons. I just don't know what of. I'm tempted to statue and stained glass theme it, or seek out angel icons, but 100 is entirely too many to be of a theme. So. Anything, really.

I am aware this is unhelpful.

And I so have to capitalise on the fact that Milliways!Lucius owes Aziraphael one, at some point...

I thought Bart, too. But sister disagrees. And I think she's annoyed I pointed that out... sometimes am accused of lording due to uniness.

I'm not big on Anne Rice. I dislike her attitude towards editing and fanfiction. I dislike her ego (OMG DOLLS WTF) and I do not get on with her writing style. However, I have heard again and again and again that it is worth persevering for the characters.

I am not one of those people that can overlook bad writing in the name of plot/characters, except in some cases. So I don't think I will ever read any of her books. On the other hand, I'm genuinely interested in Lestat.

I need to watch filmage, I think.

Okay. I need a shifty icon (I DIDN'T DO IT!) and a congratulating of OMG brilliant friendslist icon, if possible. Also? A puffin. XD

From Wikipedia:

Barthes (pronounced BART) was born in.... To add my own opinion, I always thought it was Bart as well.

Also, what's your opinion on Remus Lupin from the movies?

I adore him entirely. I love his baggy-arsed trousers, I love how fragile he is without being terribly emo. I love the little 'hullo' to Neville when he comes up to the front of the class. The scars aren't book canon, but they look good and they work within the medium. I love 'it's alright, it's chocolate'. It must be the single most quoted thing between me and my little sister, although I confess at the moment 'No. Hehehehehe. You're really weird' is giving it a run for its money.

On the other hand?

The werewolf is shit.

Definitely agree with you on the werewolf. You would think they could have made it less... animationish. But I guess that's always the problem. It's hard to find a good werewolf these days.

You don't agree on the Remus?

*grins*

I have this seperation in my head between book and film. Same with LotR. Same with Good Omens, if they ever make it. Of course, GO also has fic!Aziraphale and Milliways!Aziraphael, so there are so many of him in my head it's confusing. Sigh.

My point was, Thewpin is not my book remus. But I love what he did with the character in the context of the film.

And SO GAY.

1. Edmund/Kitty, Milliways. :D *is predictable*

2. Wensleydale, GO book canon. *is curious*

Oh no, I agree on the Remus too. Record playing, slouchy, wonderful Thewlis!Lupin.

I definitely separate movie!people from book!people too. Although with HP especially it's hard to separate out fic from book, because of the plethora of fanfic I read between 4 and 5. How many levels of meta can there be? Movie, book, fic, Milliways... *looks for Advil*

Option 2: Carrot (from Discworld; I can't imagine there's another one anywhere)

Because I am predictable and in need of an ego-boost (or...SOMETHING. Maybe I just need to move out...)

1. Skazz/Andre

2. Delia of Eldorne, of SotL and Milliways fame.

And...wouldn't have a clue. Barth-ez? Bar-the-s?

1. And then, when machines stopped bleeping and the frown lines eased on the doctor's face and she finally woke up, she asked for tea; that wasn't what she meant though, quite.

2. I think Wensleydale is sweet, but very much in need of Brian to temper him. I think he needs someone to constantly deflate him slightly because he's in danger of growing a large ego. He's careful and exacting, and really quite bright, and he could very much be a force to be reckoned with, but I think if he didn't come equipped with friends he might have a hard time making them. I don't see Wensly/Adam, although I have seen it written, because I think Wensly is too much like Mr Young. XD

2. Who do you see Wensly with, then?

Brian. Completely. But that might be because I have all their grown-up selves so very completely in my head. I've rationalised so much about why they are as they are.

I dunno.

I mean, yeah, sure, I've just got this voyeuristic thing going on where I've read your play (and random people's fics, including some of yours? I think?) but I think I agree.

I'd have to think about it more, I s'pose, but while I don't quite see Adam/Pepper, it's easy to see Wensly/Brian. They balance each other out better.
