The rain rain rain came down down down. What is that from? Something Disneyesque? I'm trying to remember, and I'm remembering floating in a variety of unlikely pieces of kitchenware (not me personally, but the Disney big-eyed whatevers) and the water being a most unbelievable shade of blue, but I can't for the life of me remember which film it is. It's not like it's important anyway, since the point of this entire introductory paragraph could quite neatly have been summed up by saying 'it's raining', but I feel the need for accuracy in my comparisons. Dammit. Regardless; yes, it's raining. It's been raining all day, and upon entering and leaving work it was almost dark enough to be night, so I feel like I've missed something. The day, really. Then again, in all probability my day would have consisted of staying in bed had I any choice in the matter, so at least the way it worked out I was dry and getting paid.

Would I ever really limit myself to 'it's raining'? Let's be honest about this, people.

Actually, I probably would have, a week, two days ago. Yesterday, even. But I think the inevitable (sooner or later) upswing in my mood has finally come about, and I'm definitely glad of it. I'm more talkative, I'm less prone to getting unaccountably annoyed with Jock Jock, I'm finding myself thinking about how words fit together, and where I can fit a particular sentence, and how exactly to describe Aziraphale carrying a stack of books that's too tall for him. I think I've been quite down for quite a while, and very little of it was triggered by anything specific. It's one of those things that happens from time to time, and I never really recognise it for what it is (something that will pass) until very near the end of it.

Plus, I think it might well be impossible to remain in a bad mood when one is wearing a sheep for a hat.

In other news, the heating man came over today. Apparently the 'pump' is 'fucked' so he's going to send 'Pete' over. WTF IS WITH ALL THE JARGON, PEOPLE?

Well... I remember a song about rain in Bambi, and I remember floating kitchenware in The Sword in the Stone. No song about rain in that one, I don't think; but then, I've only ever seen it in French, so perhaps the lyrics are just not ringing any bells.

I may be going mad, but I think that's the Winnie the Pooh movie. I have the narrator's voice in my head talking about the rain.

YES!

YES YES YES!

The very blustery day turned into a very rainy night! And the heffalumps and woozles! And they scared me shitless, like pink elephants! YES! You are a genius!

And yeah. Upswings are definitely of the good.

"Drip drip drip little April showers!" From Bambi. Yes. :D

I bought Fred a new catnip-oriented toy. He is having a gay old time.

I spent far too much time reading.

It would have been okay if I'd advanced my education, read the classics, that sort of thing, but no. No, I merely read the 'hardy boys' books. Over. And over. And over again.

Nonono, see, what you do is read during school, watch TV before dinner, and then keep rading in bed. By the time I got out of elementary school, I had perfected my Under-The-Table-Reading technique.

Nevermind education.
