Hokay, people, I have favours to ask. I have been crap and not paid the bills just yet, which is not problematic in terms of bills, but is problematic in terms of Smaller being a little peeved with me. So I have two very small favours to ask in the interests of getting on her good side again.

First, I could really use a pointer in the direction of a good pumpkin pie recipe. I seem to remember a Lot Of Cream being involved, but that's as far as it goes. If anyone knows of any websites with any, that would be hugely appreciated.

Secondly, recommendations of elements of a good Hallowe'en soundtrack that I can go about downloading would be good. I suggested Carmina Burana and was told off for being pretentious, so I'm finding snippets of Danny Elfman and pondering what else to investigate.

Any help would be most appreciated.

*hopeful smile*

Shati had a creepy, fabulous witch-song with "I'm buuurning" in the background and OMG so wonderful and awful. Ask her about it?

Rasputina have got some good Hallowe'eny songs - Transylvanian Concubine's a good one, or Gingerbread Coffin or Signs Of The Zodiac.

Audiography (http://www.livejournal.com/community/audiography/) is an mp3 community and this week's theme is Halloween. I've found a lot of great festive music over there, so you should take a look.

Okay, you'll need Oingo Boingo's Dead Man's Party, and Bauhaus's Bela Lugosi's Dead, David Bowie's Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps), Concrets Blonde's Bloodletting, Ministry's Every Day is Halloween, Marilyn Manson's cover of I Put a Spell on You, Rolling Stones' Sympathy for the Devil, and those are just the EASY to find bands. I've got about 300 more songs that are a bit more edgy and obscure, and if you're interested, you have only to say so, and I'll be happy to regale you with my Halloween playlist.

And Toto Coelo have got some dancey Hallowe'en stuff - I Eat Cannibals is great. Future Bible Heroes - I'm A Vampire is another electronicy fun one. I made a vampire themed mix last Hallowe'en, hence the spamming as I remember more of the stuff I put on there.

i usually just use the recipe that's on the back of whatever can of pumpkin stuff i buy for the pie, but any pumpkin pie recipe will be noticeably improved by the addition of the following:

1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons molasses

don't be skimpy with either.

I've used it with four or five different recipes now, and it's always an improvement. Mmmm, molasses (can you tell i'm from central pennsylvania?).

I seem to remember your Dad making pretty special pumpkin pie. Can you not get his recipe?
