nnyI've finally finished shopping for my family, and got it all wrapped in brown paper and string, and now the pressure of shopping for my sister is off me for the moment I'm feeling a lot better.
Things've been kinda crazy lately and I've not had the time to get the things done that need to be - the most pressing thing is tidying my room because it's ridiculous. It's about three feet deep in junk and books and clothes and books and bags and books - mostly books, really. I have too many of 'em, and I'm gonna have even more soon because Dad's driving me back when I come back from Southampton, so I'll be bringing all the books and CDs and the like that I never use and see if I can sell 'em on ebay or something. I don't know that I can afford Millicon any other way, else I'd give 'em to a charity shop. What can you do?
I'm going to be trying to do a little more writing. My resolution last year was to write something every day, and that sure as hell didn't work. I've never been the most prolific of writers, but as I've improved (and yes, I have, there's a reason I've never linked to my X-Files stuff) I've got more worried about the quality and therefore written less.
Editing is a skill I have to learn. Delete is too damned easy.
I'm actually quite looking forward to Christmas being done with. I haven't had the time to sort it all out this year, I've barely listened to Christmas music, we have no decorations except for a few cards (many thanks,![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
sit_good_dog, I really appreciate the recipe. And la_rainette, some day we will be on AIM at the same time, dammit.)It doesn't really feel like Christmas. I'm going to sort out various giftages I have for people when I get back, but they're not Christmas presents. I'm not organised enough for them. They're winter presents, although I might be limiting myself too much by designating them such...
I'm going to try to make more time for people, next year. Try and spend more time talking to people on AIM. Because I have a lovely load of friends, and I'm horribly neglectful. We'll see if I can stick to it.
