Plz help?

My computer's gone insane. Whenever I rightclick, copy, paste, it doesn't do what I want it to.

Like yesterday, I tried to link to a thread on Milliways, and ended up with a picture of rat!Gneil which I'd copy pasted about forty five minutes earlier, when I'd pasted other things between. And I tried to send an email to someone and it randomly pasted my tutor's address into the address bar, which I can't have highlighted to copy for about... a year. At the same time, whole chunks of text on my screen keep getting highlighted, whether I'm holding down the mouse button or not, and won't go back to normal until I click away from the page.

I'm gonna do a virus scan, see if it picks up anything queer, but...

Um. Tell me my computer's not fucked, pliss? Because I think that would kill me.

Huh. My computer does the highlight random text thing, but everything else is just odd. Sounds more like a virus than anything I can think of -- make sure your software's up to date.

the highlighting could be mouse issues. Dunno about the rest... O.o

Are you using a cut-paste command from the menu or are you using the hotkeys for it? If you're using ctrl-c and ctrl-v it could be your ctrl-key, or your C key, has a cookie crumb under it or something. *speeks from 'sperience*

If you're using menu commands, you might try a hotkey and see if that works better. Also, if your HD is nearing being v.v. full, could be it's stealing memory from your clipboard.
