Crowley winced as the curtains were flung open, dust motes dancing in the sunlight in a far too cheerful manner. He rubbed his eyes and attempted to stretch, hampered by the fact that Aziraphael's sofa was a foot too short for him.

"Hark the herald angels sing, the kitchen's clean, and so's the bin," Crowley sat up and glared at the angel over the back of the sofa. "...peace on earth and mercy mild, now I'm going to read some Wil..Oof! Was that really necessary?" Crowley brandished the other cushion threateningly, and Aziraphael fell silent, a half-smile on his face.

Adrien mock-glowers at him, stroking Evan's hair gently. The blonde boy isn't crying anymore, but he is shivering just slightly, curled up on the couch with one hand holding Marcus', white-knuckled, and the other twisted in the blanket. Theirn comes over with another blanket, carefully tucking it around him.

Ask me a question about anything! It could be about friends, sex, music, drugs, love, or lj. Anything you feel like.

No matter how rude, sexual, or confidential. Just ask it! Comments are screened, and will be answered in another post. You can comment anonymously if you want. And when I make the post, I won't reveal who asked, unless you want.

I reserve the right to lock answers to friends-only, though.

Things I Would Say To Dorothy Parker If I Was Her Boyfriend That Would Lead to a Huge Fight

"Did you just order another drink? How many is that?"

"Sure, I like hanging out with your friends. I just sometimes feel like they're making fun of me."

"I don't get it. Was that supposed to be funny?"

"I can't believe you used that word in front of my mother."

"Let's go somewhere else for lunch today. We're in New York. There have to be thousands of restaurants we haven't tried yet."

"Boy, that Benchley's a real stuffed shirt. Don't you think, Dot?"

"Well, I like the play [or book]. I'm entitled to my opinion, aren't I?"

"It just seems like writing for a new magazine with such a small target market is pretty risky."

"Oh, what's wrong, Pooh bear? Who's my little Pooh?"

The negativity of historian's views in the study of the Age of Mass Culture in 20s and 30s England

Contemporary and later historians have seemed, in general terms, to consider Mass Society a negative concept, particularly in the inter-World War years. In particular, Ortega y Gasset's Revolt of the Masses held a strong opinion that the growth of Mass Culture had a negative effect upon society - a feeling that continued to be held in later years, and also inspired films and novels such as 1984 by George Orwell. I want to investigate the variety of pessimistic views on the subject, and any opposing schools of thought. Using the contemporary study done by the Mass Observation group, I will also investigate whether the negative thought was justified, and if so, how far.
