nnyCrowley, about this stage in the evening, tended to start judging his drunkenness using polysyllabic words. 'Inebriated' was entirely too practised to be particularly telling and predictable, besides; he was currently lost somewhere around the 'sin' in floccinaucinihilipilification.
"Hypothetically," said Aziraphale, staring meditatively into his glass, "if - if, say, a... priest friend of mine came up to me, all a-fluster, and told me (hypothetically, of course) that he could suddenly see the attraction of sin," he cleared his throat, a little uneasy, "or, more specifically, a particular embodiment of sin, and that he was having distinctly, er, impure thoughts about this... embodiment, well, what would you think I should say to him?"
He looked up to meet Crowley's (somewhat unfocused) gaze and his eyes widened, rather, a blush starting to climb into his cheeks.
"Er. Hypothetically."
"-tion. HA!" He appeared to focus. "Hypothetically," said Crowley, thoughtfully. "Hypothetically, eh?"
Aziraphale nodded, his mouth rather inexplicably dry.
"Bloody excellent word, angel. Now try saying it five times fast."
