Jul. 19th, 2006 09:20 amBack, safe and slept.
And crashed straight back into reality with the news that the tax office has lost my p45 and therefore I need to get a duplicate from Specsavers and start the whole process again. Which means another six week wait. Which means I'm going to get into huge amounts of trouble from my landlord. I was seriously rude to the girl on the phone, and I regret that because I realise it's not her fault, but she made a big hole in my holiday high, dammit, and I was trying not to let on I was crying. *sulks*
AH WELL. There's nothing I can do about it until I get a duplicate p45, so I will ignore and pretend all is well and think about all the fabulous people I met and miss already. And the PPARK BENCH BOOKSHELF THING from
unravels which is the CUTEST THING EVER.
I spent yesterday morning wandering around London and waiting for my megabus, and I kept seeing people and going :O is Lise/Holly/Caleb/Pho!... and then realising that no. No, you're all on a different continent. DAMMIT.
Guess I'll have to save up and come back, huh?

Date: 2006-07-19 02:51 pm (UTC)Oh god I do that after cons ALL THE TIME. "Oh look it's someone I know! ... only not."
It's apparently a fairly widespread phenomenon. Friend of mine had a word for it, which I have forgotten.

Date: 2006-07-19 03:35 pm (UTC)I'm so going to be the same way about the Discworld Convention. Only the other way around, as I'll be coming to England from the US and won't want to come home.
