I remembered one of the things I forgot to say.

Piano-violin, vicodin-cocaine. Yes, I FINALLY worked it out. I am very SMRT. I have a degree, you know.

*headdesks quietly*

Went to the library today and wow. Wow. I had forgotten how much I love libraries. I got out The Devil's Mariner, which is another book about William Dampier, a historical perspective on Buddhism, a random book on Bosch and Eight Men and a Duck by Nick Thorpe. The beginning of the blurb of this last:

"On a fateful South American bus trip, Nick Thorpe overheard an improbable plan: to sail 2500 miles to Easter Island on a boat made of reeds. Intrigued, he blagged his way aboard the Viracocha, only to find himself with nagging questions. Why did his crewmates include a tree surgeon, a jewellery salesman and a bad-tempered waterfowl? What had happened to the navigator? And where was the life raft?"

See why I had to get it?

Meanwhile my dad is playing my childhood on the record player. It's very odd.

I'm going to have to start following your taste in books. The one you leant me is proving engaging but I have to keep stopping and checking with people that I'm not Ignatius. Um. Because OBVIOUSLY resembling the protagonist is the only reason anyone ever lends anyone a book.

Why did his crewmates include a tree surgeon, a jewellery salesman and a bad-tempered waterfowl?

Was not lent! Was present! :D

My sister got me the book for christmas one year and I have my own copy. Her boyfriend at the time said she should get me a deerstalker which, HEY! She got me Michael Rosen's Carrying the Elephant to go with, too. Considering I remember Michael Rosen for kids poems about farting and stealing all the chocolate cake, I was amazed at the fact that the book made me cry, seriously.

Oop, god. I have the memory of a duck, I swear. (I'm sorry I haven't posted your sunglasses yet - I'm STILL trying to figure out how to package them so that they don't get broken. It is looking rather like "deliver them in person", tbh. :S)

Opium, not cocaine.

Only if you're Rupert Everett. In the books he injected cocaine. :D

Well I haven't really seen a lot of the episodes. I mean, there's the obvious name thing which made me facepalm LEIK WO, there's the huge homoerotic subtext... (did I say that out loud?) Unorthodox methods, eliminating the impossible in search of the improbable...

I've read all of the Conan Doyle stuff only once, I don't pretend to be an expert.

*grins* There's a blog. About similarities.

Also this (http://www.housemd-guide.com/miscellaneous/house-art.php) painting, which is just damned pretty.
