Yep. Absolutely. And I told my doctor and he did tests and was all... yep. Nothing is wrong, you're just weird. Sometimes I can go for MONTHS without, though, which is kinda ace, just... having some idea when I was due'd be good.
Perhaps I should just suck it up and go on the pill.
As Derek said, the pill can be a complete pain, although I had three years of fuss-free periods you could set your watch by... every 4th monday at 11am. I did, however, have allergies to some types of contraception, so finding the right one took some time.
One downside I have recently experienced would be the fact that with prolonged use your periods can disappear altogether, which, if you are of a paranoid persuasion, can be a bit annoying.
Anyway, sorry you're finding it horrid. Being a girl sucks sometimes.

Believe me, it's even more awkward not knowing when you're due when there are religious practices involved.
('Course, said religious practices make it even better to be able to go for months at a time without, so it evens up I suppose.)
