Jul. 29th, 2006 10:36 amI've been silent for a few days because
soupytwist came to visit, and I was having entirely too much fun to lose bits of it to the computer. She's really quite wonderful - like a smaller, more intelligent and generally improved version of me, really. The Japanese version. I showed her some random stuff that I love, and in return she introduced me to Strangers with Candy, A Bit of Fry and Laurie (which I hadn't seen before, which is kind of horrifying), and Sports Night.
That last was certainly interesting. I mean, the writing really didn't do all that much for me, but Casey and Dan... I've never had so strong a conviction, so early on, that the male leads are so very clearly in love. I probably would have about Due South had I already been a slasher when I was watching it, but. Yeah. It's all about the relationship, and I do like it awfully. I've borrowed the first series, so I shall be happily immersing myself in that for a while. Provided I can get over Dana's breast, which are ROCK SOLID and HALFWAY UP HER NECK. They are my arch nemeses.
soupytwist also provided four of the five Due South episodes I didn't have, which is one of many reasons that she is complete love. :D
ETA: I completely forgot to mention that I phoned up the tax office again, preparing to have another rant, and apparently I'll have the money in a couple of weeks. I was expecting about... £800, of which I owe my parents £716, so I was thinking, y'know, I could at least go to the cinema a couple of times or something.
Turns out I'm getting over £1100.
