Well clearly I disagree.

It's mindless fun which occasionally blindsides you with weepy moments. The characters are fantastic and the slash is virtually canon. It's not in any way highbrow or intellectual but I couldn't care less because I'm having a ball.

It's like, I have Firefly, and then All Those Other Lamer Space Shows That I Don't Care About And Can't Really Tell Apart Like The Ten Thousand Fantasy Novels In The Bookstore With The Same Cover That Just Makes You Go Blah Because You Just Know That Characters Will Have Unnecessary Apostrophes In Their Names.

But the fandom is immense. And the quality fanfic (which OMG so much of in this fandom) can make you see more in the show than is perhaps actually there, but I don't see that there's any harm in that. I've found a sandpit to play in and it's making me glee. :D
