Okay, so my dream last night involved my bracelet breaking, someone throwing a cup of pee at someone else who was asleep, crazy hairy people, innerbrat, Dan and Casey from Sports Night, Very Pretty Dresses and the church hall I used to do plays in. Other stuff as well, but this was the stuff that seemed most memorable.

The weird thing was, though, that most of it was putting across the message, over and over again, that I wanted to do another degree. It was seriously... the dream was, like, dancing around naked and shaking its bum in my face and taunting me with the degree I wish I'd done.

And while I know teaching is a good plan and it's a financially positive step and I'll be good at it and all that stuff, this potential degree is seriously nagging at me. And I can do it later. That's what I'm reassuring myself with. I can do it later, there's nothing stopping me, and right now it would be the worst step financially that I could take.

But god I'm wanting it. Dammit.

Ah. I kind of vaguely toyed with doing that as a subject myself, and whilst I think it would be fascinating, I feel it's... yeah, more of a go-back-to-school-as-an-adult-and-learn-cool-things-for-the-heck-of-it degree. Plus, it's the kind of subject I think I might get really frustrated with if I had to study it.

I did it at GCSE and A-level and was the class I turned up to with most regularity. I loved studying it and was seriously looking at Universities that did it, but my parents and other aliens convinced me out of it, saw it as too vocational. And I got sick of being asked if I was going to be a nun. Teaching wasn't something I was really thinking about then, and I was persuaded that I'd have no idea what to do with later.

My parents have got a load more relaxed about that sort of thing with the siblings - I was the first one in my family to go to uni, so they didn't really know much about the whole degree thing.
