Oct. 1st, 2006 04:49 pmGood lord, shopping makes me tired. I have presents for the be-birthdayed family members of the month, though, so that's definitely a good thing.
My bounty:
- Decent mascara
- Mini highlighters (they so cuuuute!)
- Temeraire
- The City of Lost Children (cheap in Fopp)
- Sigur Ros... er, summat. The one with the flying foetus on. (Likewise).
- Knee-length double-breasted black wool coat (♥)
- Ivory granddad shirt with manymany buttons.
There was music playing in H&M and one part of it sounded like a wraith dart and had me wanting to duck and cover. I mean, dude, I already thought clothes shopping was terrifying, there's really no need for that sort of thing.
And Fopp? Fopp is clearly evil. Clearly. Very slightly less so now I have a full-time job, but often when I was at uni my thought processes went something like - "I have £5 until the end of the month. But this book is only £4! And who needs food anyway, right?" It's so cheap and so delicious, with a decent range of films, books, CDs and TV shows; by decent range I mean they have stuff I actually want to buy, unlike The Works which tends to have excellent deals on books that only a madman or Alan Titchmarsh would actually want.
I continue to suck at clothes shopping, and high street shopping continues to suck at me. I mean, yes, I'm overweight. I do freely admit this and I'm making an effort to change it. But there is so very little that's not hideous for someone my size; it really puts my back up. Not to mention that my sister, who's a size 14 (American size... 10, I think?) was having a lot of trouble finding anything in her size in H&M, too. Quite possibly it's because the 12s and 14s are the first sizes to go, which is why there's an enormously disproportionate number of 6s and 8s in the store, but maybe they should cater for that and order in more.
Pmmph. I'm just bitter because there was a really nice tweed skirt that they had in the size below mine and not mine.
Damn their eyes.
...wow. The moodtheme may be labelled lazy, but to me that's just screaming BLOWJOB FACE!!!

Date: 2006-10-01 09:29 pm (UTC)That's awesome, though. Samurai Captain Jack ... Samurai Jack! ROCK HANDS. I still want to write Captain Jack/Captain Jack/Captain Jack, too. Mmm, Jack.
Also, your home town smells distinctly of milk. WHY IS THIS?
