nny: (I'd rather be reading)

There will be talk of Manchester soon, and of Oxford, but I rather think I'm going to have to see the History Boys again before I can do it justice. [livejournal.com profile] foreverdirt managed to confuse me utterly with talk of various meta-related things, and I shall use as my excuse the fact that I've only seen it once and was distracted by the shiny and the gay.

(This is the story of my life.)

What I will say for now, though, is IRWIN ♥! And that... dude. I'm going to be a teacher. So much of my life people have mentioned the option as though it's some sort of consolation prize, but screw them. I'm going to be a teacher, and I am determined to be a damned fine one.

I've signed up to [livejournal.com profile] yuletide which is going to be challenging, and I'm rather looking forward to it. I'm hoping that I don't get someone I've heard of to write for, because I have learned that this is a terrifying, terrifying thing.

Back to work tomorrow. And much as I love my job (and love it I do) I'm really not ready to go back. I should know better than to attempt to do things over half term. *sigh*

Anyway, yes - I'm going to scuttle off and read the American Gods novella in Fragile Things, I think. Gneil is so very worthy of admiration and fangirling.
