Nov. 24th, 2006 06:20 pmIt's five minutes past six and I'm just about ready to pass out from exhaustion. Inconthievable. I'm achey all over, hugely so in my back, but it's something I'm getting used to, which is definitely a good thing. Means I can start getting back on top of things I've let slide terribly lately.
I ignored the advice given in my poll yesterday, I'm sorry - I actually curled up in bed and fell asleep, then finished reading Running With Scissors, which is a hugely bizarre book, this morning. I would say that anyone who enjoyed A Confederacy of Dunces would probably enjoy it, as well, but blimey. It makes me grateful for my family, and that is kinda tough to do.
I think... it seems like such a hugely American book. I don't know. We have a very different perspective on mental health and the treatment thereof in this country, so this book - as extreme as it is, and as extreme as it will be for anyone reading it I imagine, it's that little bit more off the wall for me.
And I just went off into a big rant about Catcher in the Rye and Igby Goes Down and stuff, but it was boring and self-indulgent and didn't say much about anything so I gave up and deleted and filled the space with imaginary Paul Bettany instead.
Wasn't it pretty?
