Jan. 15th, 2007 08:56 pmI'm so looking forward to the amount of space I'll have on my new computer, because music has always been really central to my life and I want to show you the shivery guitars on Amon Tobin and the soundscapes and the albums I've forgotten to listen to for months that perfectly illustrate my teenage years and the music that makes me laugh and the music that makes me cry; all the stuff I haven't the room to upload, just yet. I'm looking forward to making you recommend stuff to me, too, to expanding my musical horizons and trying new things and laughing stupidly at how our tastes clash so horribly and yet we can still be such good friends.
I'm looking forward - I can't tell you how much I'm looking forward - to having the space and RAM to run AIM and Y!M, to catching up with people I haven't spoken to in forever and speaking to people I've never got a chance with, one to one. I'm looking forward to having the chance to talk people into doing truly horrible things within the world of fanfiction, and the chance to get tipsy at people and communicate mainly through emoticons.
I'm excited about getting hold of all the TV shows you've been bouncing about for months, finding my clumsy way around relating things to each other and coming up with theories, maybe trying my hand at a little character analysis if only because you'll have all seen it before and probably won't be watching closely enough to laugh.
My old - this - computer, too. I'm looking forward to handing it over to my little sister, clean as I can make it, so she can get hold of some cheap music software and get back to making her own tunes. She's working on decks, too, wants to be a DJ and more power to her. It's not much of a computer, and she'll be ready for a better one in a year or two, but it's a start, at least.
So I'm sorry for the bitching about the still-absent computer. I've just been looking forward to this for quite a while, and I'm not so good at delayed gratification.
