How 'bout you?

Letters today have covered Cardiff library, some vague thoughts on tao, and almost every bedroom I've ever had. Which I just typed as bathroom, which is probably because I'm still all pruney from Lush bubbles. There was also mention of music, headphones, masturbation and braces, so pretty much the entirety of my puberty, really.

*grins*

It's actually remarkably fun to just pick a topic and ramble for four-five pages. Especially if it's happy memories. And when I do stuff like this it's really just a projection - provide people with what I want. If you've got a few minutes to spare, ramble into the comment box for me? Tell me about one particular memory, or a place that makes you happy, or your opinion of olives, or anything you want. I love hearing the detail of what people think. The stuff that's not so carefully prepared as posts of opinions and such.

If you didn't ask for a letter but want a like comment back, let me know. ;)

Oh, and it has been declared Blanket Fort Day, apparently, which is a concept I am all for. I think I'll grab some hot chocolate - soon as I've done the hoovering - and snuggle into bed with Jack and Stephen. :D

I work in the study skills office at my school, and today my boss (the only other person that works here) went home sick. I could lock up the office if I wanted to, but since I skipped philosophy class today so as to finish a paper due tomorrow, I am keeping the place open since I get so much work done here in the ass-end of the library where no one else ventures except me.

I left at 12 to meet the boy for lunch and afterward he walked me back to my office where I complained about how Gawain is a loser. All the chairs in the office have wheels, and Boy took the backrest of my chair and used it to wheel me around the wide expanse of carpet in the center of the office.

"Have you regressed enough?" he asks.
*GiggleGiggle*, I replied.

I went from page 2 to page 4 in like, 20 minutes thereafter, plus I am going to go stalk the professor for whom this paper is being written to WTF at him to make sure I do okay on this.

Today doesn't suck.

And rambling? Oooh, I can do rambling.

When I was in...mmm, fourth grade? Fifth? Somewhere around there, anyhow, our school had a little webpage with fun links for little wee people. And one of these links was to a site called Orisinal: Morning Sunshine (http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal). And they had all sorts of fun little distracty games and things like that, so I used to spend all my time there. And then I got older, and spent less time there, but I still used to go back and check on it every now and then.

Sometime around last yearish, it was a friend's birthday, and I hadn't remembered until she told me. So I was all running around like a chicken with its head cut off because I didn't have a gift or anything and I'd told her she was getting something special. And so, in order to calm down a little bit, I logged onto Orisinal. And while I was looking around for new games, I saw...a little creator thing where you could send online flowers and a message to people.

Which seemed pretty spiffy to me. So I sent her flowers and a personal message that talked a lot about our friendship and how much she'd helped me, that kind of thing, and all was well.

About half a year later, a similar thing happened, and again the birthday present was a little message and some flowers. Then someone I knew was having a hard time, so she got flowers as well. And then another person was having a hard time, and then I started thinking about people being left out, and...long story short, I became a flower fairy. I go through my flist every month or so, and people get flowers. Flowers just letting them know that hey, I'm out here if they need someone, flowers to make them giggle or smile or cheer them up.

It can be a little hit-and-miss - spam filters tend to flag the message, sometimes it'll go to the wrong email or I'll have spelled it wrong or whatever - but most often it gets there and I'll see a little message on my flist of someone talking about how they randomly got flowers, and it makes me all warm and skooshy inside.

...that rambly enough for you?

I wanted to be a pediatrician for a long time. And an astronaut.

Then I wanted to be a soap opera actress.

Then a fashion designer/buyer.

Then an actress (briefly) again.

Then a high school drama teacher.

Then an elementary teacher.

Then an instructional designer.

Now I wanna be a teacher again.

I always wanted to be an astronaut, from the time I was like, four. I was in a military thingy when I was in school. I had a line in on the Air Force Academy.

Then I realized I hated the military, and stopped. I think it was the right decision. Now I just have to make a few million and get Virgin Galactic to take me up. XD

I think I'll grab some hot chocolate - soon as I've done the hoovering - and snuggle into bed with Jack and Stephen. :D

...Well isn't that a nice place to snuggle up. IIIII'll be in my bunk.

I started wanting to be a vet from the age of about 7 or 8-not entirely sure why but it would have been shortly after our cat Saba died and before we got Kit. I think I'd grown up with this idea because my parents were very keen on me doing something medical-self gratification or validation, take your pick.
My sister and I shared a room until I was 14 and we used to play vets. We had a whole surgery set up-we even made files for each 'patient', which of course was a wide variety of stuffed toys. And ailments invariably required bandaging with cut up old sheets.
Thinking back on it now, although I harbour quite a bit of resentment towards my parents, I'm very glad I had the childhood I did. I wanted so badly to be like the other kids and have a computer to play on or to be able to watch the tv whenever I wanted but as an adult playing those sorts of games seem no fun at all. Apart from one or two major childhood issues, I had fun as a kid using my brain and my imagination and runnig around like a lunatic. Ooh and talking to myself a lot! (Does this count as a ramble?)
