1) André is used to getting hurt in the line of duty, and he's okay with pain, he can deal with it just fine, see. He's more likely to underplay it, do himself damage through not admitting to it, and Cable Street's resident Igor has actually tied him to a bed more than once. Being sick, though? That scares him. He completely falls apart and holes up and is generally pathetic until Skazz agrees to come look after him. They kind of make it into a joke, make like it's André taking advantage, and don't mention how he curls himself tightly around the kid and won't let go.
2) He spends most of his time barefoot and won't put on shoes unless he absolutely has to, when he's at home. Regardless of weather.
3) André was actually convinced for the longest time that he wouldn't ever fall in love again after his wife, Artaith, died. He managed to keep thinking that even for a year after he met the kid, managed to convince himself until he visited the UU and found Skazz on the roof in the dead of winter, wrapped in a dozen blankets and still shivering, watching the stars with an awed expression on his face. It happened a hell of a lot earlier than that, to be honest, but that was when he gave in.
And now suddenly I miss them fiercely. GODDAMN YOU! XD
